Why is my miner under service?
If your miner is currently under service, there are several potential reasons for this. Below, we address the most common concerns and provide insights into the repair process.
Common Reasons for Servicing a Miner
Miners may require servicing due to:
- Hardware issues – Components such as faulty fans, hashboards, power supplies, or control boards may need repairs or replacements.
- Performance degradation – Over time, miners may experience reduced efficiency, requiring maintenance to restore optimal performance.
- Firmware or software issues – Certain issues might require updates or reinstallation of firmware.
- Cooling and overheating problems – Dust buildup, fan malfunctions, or cooling inefficiencies can lead to servicing needs.
How long does a miner service take?
The average turnaround time for miner repairs at the service center is 4-6 weeks. This can vary slightly depending on the service center’s workload, meaning some services may be completed slightly faster or slower.
We understand this can be frustrating, but please note that the repair speed is outside of our control, as the service center prioritizes quality over speed. Their goal is to ensure that once a miner is serviced, it does not need to be returned again for an extended period.
Why does the number of miners in my dashboard change?
If you notice fluctuations in the number of miners displayed on your dashboard, it is usually due to temporary restarts. Miners occasionally undergo an automatic reboot to maintain stable 24/7 operation, similar to restarting a computer.
When this happens, the miner may temporarily disappear from the dashboard but should reappear within a few hours. If you continue to see inconsistencies for an extended period, please reach out to support so we can investigate.
How does your watcher link calculate the number of active miners?
Your watcher link tracks miner activity based on real-time data. When a miner restarts, it may temporarily disappear from the watcher link dashboard before reappearing. This is a normal occurrence and does not indicate a malfunction.
If you believe a miner is offline for an extended period, please check your watcher link for more details. If the issue persists, contact support via support@epicmining.io for further assistance.
