Update 26-05-2026

Subject: New Update about Ethiopian Situation

Dear Epic Mining Customers,

We would like to transparently share the current situation regarding power availability at our Ethiopian mining facilities and explain why temporary downtime is currently occurring.

The current situation is related to nationwide energy management measures during Ethiopia's dry season. During this period, hydroelectric power production is affected due to lower water availability, which results in temporary power curtailments across large energy consumers, including data centers and Bitcoin mining facilities.

Official communication received:

"Dear Valued Data Mining Customers,

Due to current supply-side constraints, all data centers are required to strictly adhere to the approved supply demand balance load shedding plan until further notice. This measure is necessary to ensure grid stability and applies to all facilities, including newly approved connections.

Operational limits:

16:00–22:00 (6h) → max 25% load

05:00–16:00 (11h) → max 50% load

22:00–05:00 (7h) → max 75% load

No exceptions will be granted."

Despite these temporary curtailments, the situation is beginning to show positive signals. Based on our communication with parties connected to the energy sector, expectations are that power availability will gradually improve over the coming months. We have already seen certain improvements compared to earlier periods. According to information shared with us by individuals connected to Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP), the current target is to restore operations back to 90%+ power capacity before the end of the summer season.

These developments are encouraging signals for the long term future of Bitcoin mining in Ethiopia and show that the country continues to actively support the sector while improving oversight and infrastructure stability.

Please note that the positive expectations mentioned above are not based on official public statements from Ethiopian Electric Power or the Ethiopian government. They are based on our own operational observations and information shared with us by individuals connected to these organizations. As such, this should not be interpreted as a guarantee or official promise, but rather as positive indications regarding the direction of the current situation.

As soon as we receive further updates, we will of course continue to share them transparently.

Kind Regards,

Team Epic Mining

Update 22-04-2026

Important Update: Implementation of Load-Shedding Schedule for Data Centers

''Dear Valued Data Mining Customers,

We hope this message finds you well. Due to current supply-side constraints, all data centers are required to strictly adhere to the approved supply–demand balance load-shedding plan until further notice. This measure is necessary to ensure grid stability and applies to all facilities, including newly approved connections.

Please find below the operational limits based on the load-shedding schedule:

· 75% Load Curtailment (16:00–22:00 | 6 hours): Data centers shall operate at a maximum of 25% of their approved maximum load during this period.

· 50% Load Curtailment (05:00–16:00 | 11 hours): Data centers shall operate at a maximum of 50% of their normal load during this period.

· 25% Load Curtailment (22:00–05:00 | 7 hours): Data centers shall operate at a maximum of 75% of their normal load during this period.

Please note that no exceptions will be granted, and all grid-connected data centers must comply with the above loading schedule. In the event of an emergency or system operational requirement, the Load Dispatch Center (LDC) system operator reserves the sole authority to instruct substations to modify the schedule as necessary.

We also wish to emphasize that exceeding the approved load or contravening the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is strictly prohibited.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work together to maintain a reliable and balanced power supply.

Best regards,

National Load Dispatch Center
